Topic: Pattern and Ornament-Small Work

At the beginning of Topic #2 we started with creating this three dimensional piece, the tetrahedron. Although we went for the more tedious process to create it ( using circles to create the triangles that construct the object) the class after, it all became clear that we were being exposed to geometrical motives.

For the next small work we were asked to create a symbol based visual language, and later on pick on of the symbols con transform from 2d to 3d. my personal pick was #9 HEALTH. The reason behind the pick was that I could picture it in space instantly, its simplicity meant I could play around with it.

The three dimensional object was made from construction paper and glue. The objective was to bring the top view of symbol #9 and layer it to create interest on the side and bottom views. I used a bit of angles and negative space to achieve that. Yes, it does look like a frog.
